Van Buren 2011

Well, it's been a full year (and a little more) since I last submitted pictures of my girls...Here is Van Buren all grown up, with over a hundred eggs to her name. (I forget the exact number and I don't have my list with me.)

Ain't she a purdy birdy? I don't know what she has mixed in HER bloodline (probably some sort of Red somewhere), but she's certainly unique enough. Not a straight Auracana, or even an Americana...her eggs tend to be a kind of olive green-ish blue-ish with either white spots, or pinkish spots. (Although yesterday's egg didn't have any spots, which was sort of unusual for her.)

What you can't see in this picture is that she's got a nice big ol' bald patch on her head. XDD
(She needs to grow some new feathers.)
