Time Warp by 3Fangs Time Warp by 3Fangs
Alright, so I said I was done with the derpy selfies, but then I remembered I'd been wanting to try my hand at the Time Warp meme floating around.
Tellos cover copyright Mike Wieringo. It was an image I'd ganked from Google images. (Too lazy to try and draw it myself.) ^^;

It's just a jump to the left
Then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust
That really drives 'em insaaaa-aaa-aaa-ane

No, I can't think of the words "Time Warp" without doing the appropriate dance.
For anyone out there who's seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I DARE you to not sing along with that particular dance number. :|

Original blank meme by :iconthundercake: [?]

The ages 3 and 13 were actually quite formative to my desire to draw.
From 2-3, my life consisted of all the cartoons I could possibly watch. TV was my lifeblood. If it was animated, I wanted to watch it.
At the age of 13, I'd discovered the graphic novel Tellos, by Todd Dezago and Mike Wieringo, and I realized comics could tell a story in a format other than the Sunday cartoon strips. What followed was a desire to make my OWN comics and characters. (Let's ignore the fact that I haven't made any great steps in that direction lately--the future could hold bright and wonderful things! Maybe.)

I made for a cuter kid than an adult. :XD:
Actually, I was probably more manageable at that age since I'd mostly lost interest in drawing on the walls and instead wanted to spend my time watching TV. I remember shortly after moving into the house, I fell in love with an animated show I didn't even know the name of. Doing research now, I THINK it might have been Voltron [?]...Anyways, I remember I had been put down for a nap and I was so disappointed, since I was missing what I viewed as the most awesome show ever (it had a white tiger in the episode I was watching), so I sulked around on the bed with my blankie until I finally snuck out of the room to finish watching the show.

I JUST put down a book about a girl who lost her favourite book as a little kid and how she wished she could find it again. Your story sounds really similar, it's weird when the universe is in sync like that. For some reason, that book made me weep uncontrollably. I guess it struck a chord with me as a lifelong reader. I really hope you find your forgotten childhood cartoon.

DO IT!!!!! :onfire:

Pink was my favorite color as a young child...Pink knitted mittens (I had two pairs! Knitted for me by my mere mere!), pink knitted scarf, pink knitted hat, pink shorts, pink shirts, pink pants, pink sippy-cup, pink plate--basically, if it was mine, I wanted it to be pink. The only thing that wasn't pink was my blankie. (Which is what I tried to draw myself holding, since comfort blankies were of great comfort while watching TV.)

You and my friend :iconthe-vaudevilleprince: should talk to each other. You both have similar linework. Maybe you'll find a interesting discussion on art techniques. :)

You've really changed! Especially around the nose and details. Good work.

Thanks for the recommend! I love finding new artists to follow around here--there's so many talented people, my list of galleries to check out (and comment on) has grown considerably. (That's one of the things I missed so much about being active around dA--talking to other artists.) :aww:
