M'sieur Maxwell Trenton. But you can call him Max. He's come QUITE a ways since we first saw him in the comic, I can tell you...[link]
John Clyde News: I haven't scripted any pages recently, BUT I know exactly how it'll play out leading up to, and ending the ISLAND storyline. (Well, truth be told, I've had the Island end for a looooong time now.) This comic WILL be re-booted (eventually) and it will start over from the beginning. It'll have many of the same gags, but also a lot of new ones. The characters will even have a bit more depth, and it may seem less "John-Oriented" as I have some serious story-arcs involving other characters as well. When I left off, we had 72 pages or so...I think it's safe to say that when I finish re-writing the story, there may be close to 100 pages from the beginning to the end of the Island story. (In fact, I suppose it's likely that I may even go OVER 100 pages...But I can't say for certain yet.)
Either way...I'll probably cut them up into two issues. The first dealing with everything before the Island, the second one dealing with and resolving the island. I don't know exactly where it will go after that, because I haven't allowed myself to think that far ahead. But I can assure you there WILL be more after the Island.
I'm going to work on this comic over the course of the winter, with the aim of having new pages for either the late spring, or early summer. (Wish me luck.)
Thanks! Varying the line thickness has always been a struggle for me, but it's something that I feel can give a lot of life to a picture. (Especially when it's in the black&white stages.) So, though I have along way to go yet, I think that might be something I'd like to really work on this year.
I'm currently experimenting with line colors since I don't think black lines suit my work anymore. Maybe brown lines will give my art a warmer feeling?
I tried it on a piece earlier by changing the glass-related lines into a grimy green color, it worked well when showing the different between the clear black lineart with the broken glass lienart.
Thanks! I did so little work on JC and the gang last year it was pretty disappointing...It's nice to know there are still people out there who wait for his return. (And I think this year WILL be the year for it.)
I just hope I'll still be able to do the characters justice. It can be a little daunting at times, because I'm worried about not every page being hugely funny. (Of course, they weren't ALL funny in the first go around...I just hope it won't seem too "weird" if I handle some more serious issues for each of the characters as well as the humor that comes with them.)
