Doby-1

Years ago I did a couple of little doodles with these saurian type creatures, and recently I re-found them in my "Big Ol' Bag of Drawings". I still love their design, so I was thinking about bringing them back, and I even came up with the skeleton of an idea for a comic set in a fictional world using planes designed to look like WWI fighter planes. I haven't written any scripts yet, but I drew the design for the main character here. Doby-1 isn't HIS name, but that's what he goes by when in flight. His best friend is Doby-2, and there are 4 other Dobys in the squadron. And I think there are...6 other squads each with 6 planes. (The reasoning for the number will be explained in the comic, and it's one of those "clever" little ideas I use that drive ~JNels crazy.)

Lacking my tablet for the moment, (i.e. it's upstairs and I don't feel like trudging up to get it) I just tossed some colors onto the pencils. An interesting effect, though my lines remain slightly too sketchy to look "great."
