D and D 5th Edition Character Sheet

Description

Final Version of my homebrew 5th Edition Dungeons&Dragons character sheet--no more futzing around with this thing!
I think I tweaked it as much as I'm gonna...adjusting the carry-weight capacity on the back page, changing the spell slots list marginally, tweaking the table for traits and whatnot, adding a death-save counter, and adding little circles to mark which stats get their proficiency bonus to save rolls...I think I'm satisfied.

For those of you still not in the know, Wizards of the Coast released their "basic" rules free to use.
Meaning you don't have to BUY them to be able to play the game. That's a pretty significant thing right there. It actually rather impresses me.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? GO PLAY SOME D&D!!!

Seriously, now is honestly the best time to get into the namebrand game.
5th Edition of Dungeons&Dragons is much easier to grasp than 4th if you're a beginner to the game.
It's not quite as simple as some of those retro-clones, like Labyrinth Lord, or Swords&Wizardy, but it's certainly not as overwhelming as Pathfinder!
Don't get me wrong, I love Pathfinder and all its options in customization--and the extensive list of feats...But for those times when you want to cut down on the crunch, but don't want to go completely oldschool, 5E gives the right balance between Advanced D&D and 3.5.
It also seems able to handle an "epic" style of gameplay, without being "too easy" on the players.
I like to run my games with a slightly more cinematic flare (letting players attempt to swing on a rope through a giant water elemental to save the engulfed/drowning halfling rogue), but I like to be able to say "this is still dangerous, you can expect to DIE if you mess up too badly or get some really $#@%*! rolls". I'm not big on scaling challenge level to party level--if it sounds and/or looks cool, I'll probably throw it at my players regardless of whether it's "fair" or not. If they can find ingenious ways of not dying, that's super. If they attack something like a Bulette while only being 1st level...well, they can expect to be rolling up fresh characters. There's no shame in running when the monster is clearly out of your league.
(I've been itching to throw a banshee at my players for a while, but if I have to wait for them to get to the appropriate level, I could be waiting a loooooong time--I have limited time for running games--so I'll probably throw it at them, ready or not.) ;p

Sorry for going a little nerd here, I know tabletop roleplaying games aren't everyone's cuppa tea (or cuppa joe, if you don't like tea).
(My sisters don't particularly care for it, and I was a reluctant player myself, until I realized the fun and freedom offered in playing.)

I'm seriously considering writing up some zine-style mini-adventures, if any of you are interested in playing but are fresh out of ideas.
I'm working on a re-write of the first session I ever successfully ran...it should make for a decent beginning adventure.
(Even though SteelFanged's character almost died after getting some preeeeetty bad rolls.)
I'mma playtest it with its changes once I get the maps ironed out. Then I'll see about posting it here on dA!
Kinda got an idea for a whole series of zines...What do you think of the name The Dungeoneerist Digest? Is that catchy?

I still haven't checked out Roll20 (not enough hours in a day), what about any of you? roll20.net/
Virtual tabletop gaming just as fun as sitting down at a real table, rolling real dice?
I hope to check it out one of these days, when things settle down around here; I'd be willing to run games if you'd be interested in play-testing adventures...:eyes:
Ha! If you've read this entire wall of text, congratulations--if not, I don't blame you.

Aaahh this is so cool! Thanks for posting it. Do you intend this to be for general use?
