I've been trying to figure out a way to make trees look cartoony without being TOO simplistic--I want to be able to be pleased with the backgrounds in John Clyde when I pick up comic work again.
I probably don't need to tell you how much that means coming from you, but I shall anyway--your support and encouragement has always been muchos appreciated mi amiga.
Heh, I suppose if it weren't for communities like dA and DrunkDuck and the comicker friends I've made here, I wouldn't have progressed the way I have. It's been an inspiration to know you and look on your own work; the support of friends in those "early" years meant a lot to me and I've been thinking back on it as I try to re-find my focus. I think it's very important for the first-time comicker to have the sort of encouragement so many of you have offered...the world would be a very good place indeed if we could ALL give a little bit of that. (I, for one, hope to pass on the kindness wherever I'm able.)
Before I got on DA and later DD and other sites, I maybe had two or three "followers." Now I am overwhelmed by the response I get on my work. Lots of people badmouth the online communities and I'll never know why. Sure there are negative aspects, but I think the people that poo-poo them so to speak are people that tend to see the negative in everything anyway, know what I mean?
And I want to say thank YOU for reading my stuff, you are one of the few that stuck with me in my "down times" and I do appreciate that so much. You are definitely one of my top internet chums!
